Our Voice is a programme to help individuals and communities have a say and influence the development of local and national health and social care services.
Young people from our Transition Support Service took part in events and discussions to share their experiences.
Dean and Ashley represented the voices of Includem young people at an event on Friday 31 March and shared what the group had to say with other young people and professionals. They described the importance of relationships with workers to help young people engage with services and stressed that professionals need to value the voice of young people, particularly about mental health.
Marie Sullivan, Project Worker with the Transitional Support Team, has worked with Dean and Ashley throughout their time with Includem and supported them at the event. She said:
“I feel so proud to have been part of their support. They are both about to move on from Includem, so seeing them take part event is a great way to end to their journey with us.”
Dean closed the event by performing an original song he wrote about his experience of mental health support.
