Includem’s IMPACT programme is an award-winning project to tackle violent re-offending.
The project was set up to challenge violent and alcohol-related offending in Glasgow. The police are clear that enforcement on it’s own does not work.
Despite reported reduced levels of gang activity and violent crime in Glasgow, there remain communities with significant issues of territorialism and a culture of violence that has to be challenged.
The IMPACT project takes a preventative perspective, targeting these individuals to change their attitudes and behaviours, to reduce violent re-offending and prevent them being drawn into a cycle of custodial sentences.
