Hi Joy, can you tell us a bit about what you are responsible for?
Hello, I have a specific focus on how participation can be deeply embedded in our work and everything that we do…and that we continue to grow in our practice…so that we can know that we are really making a difference to how we work with children, young people, and families.
Can you tell us a bit about what you are working on at the moment?
This is Day Nine for me and I am delighted to be here with you, particularly at this time when life is changing again for us all in so many ways.
I am here for a year which will fly by and so I am starting off by talking with as many people as I can to learn as much as I can about the brilliant work you have been doing and continue to do. I am also very keen to hear your ideas and thoughts about how we can all work together to make sure that we keep the promise to children, young people and families
What’s the best part of your job?
Meeting and talking with people. When that involves cake, hot chocolate and/or chips I must confess that makes it even better! 😊
What is your proudest moment?
When I know that people feel safe to talk to me and that they know I am listening…
Can you tell us something we might not know about you?
It turns out I am a biker chick 😊 ( ps I only found out recently myself!)
I also love poetry, and this is one of my favourite quotes…
“Walk on air against your better judgement…”
