Positions – X1 full-time, Permanent
Salary – £29,166.00 + 10% overnight enhancement
Contracted hours – 37hrs per week

You will be required to travel Scotland wide, with potential overnight stays away from home with expenses paid.

Purpose & Context of Role
The postholder will manage their own caseload ensuring support plans are developed with the young person to respond to their individual needs and supporting them to improve outcomes in line with GIRFEC principles and includem’s model of support.
You will be expected to actively demonstrate leadership and ownership over effective service delivery to young people, by managing their outcomes through use of line managers, colleagues and organisational tools, processes, policies and procedures.
Service Delivery
· To build relationships and deliver outcome-based support to young people and families, involving all key stakeholders.
· To be available for young people and families at critical times
· To explore values and attitudes with young people in a supportive manner, to affirm and validate their feelings and ideas, and nurture and confirm their learning
· To ensure a focus on regular and appropriate case progression to help young people and families recognise progress.
· To assess and respond appropriately to situations where young people and/or families may be at risk of harm.
· To actively participate in the delivery of the Includem Helpline evening and night service so support is available for young people and families 24/7
· To support with crisis management and generate solutions for young people and families using the Helpline, with risk enablement being at the heart of professional judgement and decision making

· To understand the different coping mechanisms that young people and their families use to deal with stress and high emotions, and to respond appropriately
· To demonstrate professional resilience when providing support with sensitive or challenging issues
· To use a strengths-based approach to empower individuals facing adversity to find solutions and make positive changes, ensuring resources are in place to sustain these changes
· To establish mutually trusting, open and non-judgemental relationship with young people and their families

The Role – Head of Development
Location: Our head office is located in Glasgow but we welcome applicants who could be based at any of our main locations (Glasgow, Fife, Aberdeen). The role will involve occasional travel across Scotland, and we have a hybrid working model with an expected minimum of 3 days office based per week.

Team: Executive Team
With a focus on external engagement, the Head of Development is responsible for identifying, developing and securing sustainable growth opportunities that enable Includem to extend its impact across Scotland.
As part of the Executive Team, the postholder will lead the organisation’s business development, strategic partnerships, fundraising, communications, policy and influencing activity, ensuring Includem remains at the forefront of supporting children, young people and families. Working closely with service delivery teams, the executive team and board, they will identify emerging opportunities, shape innovative service responses, strengthen external relationships and use evidence and impact data to influence policy and secure future investment.
This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Includem has a strong external profile, diversified income streams, a robust evidence base on Includem’s model and impact and an influential voice in shaping services and public policy.
This is a diverse role and the key responsibilities include the following. We have a broad range of expertise within the Development Team so don’t necessarily expect our new Head of Development to have skills and experience across all areas:
Strategic Business Development
- Drive Includem’s business development activity aligned to organisational priorities.
- Build strong relationships with service delivery teams to identify local development opportunities and support colleagues to confidently position Includem with commissioners and partners.
- Work proactively with Scottish Government, Local Authorities and other commissioners to understand emerging priorities and develop innovative, costed service proposals.
- Lead the identification, assessment and pursuit of new service opportunities across Scotland.
- Develop strategic partnerships that enhance Includem’s reach, sustainability and impact.
- Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team and Board on strategic growth opportunities and emerging risks.
Income Generation and Fundraising
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key charitable trusts, foundations and grant funders.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of grant funding opportunities and oversee high-quality funding applications.
- Lead engagement with major funders including Corra Foundation, National Lottery Community Fund and other strategic funding partners.
- Develop innovative approaches to individual giving, community fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Tendering and Contract Development
