Why your fundraising matters

At includem, we work alongside children, young people and families facing multiple and complex challenges. Many of the young people we support experience poverty, isolation, and barriers to opportunities that others may take for granted.

Funds raised through community fundraising directly support our work and initiatives such as the Young Person’s Fund, helping provide essentials, activities, and opportunities that build confidence, wellbeing and brighter futures.

Your fundraising can help a young person:

  • Access education, training or hobbies

  • Take part in activities that improve wellbeing

  • Receive essential items during difficult times

  • Build confidence and positive relationships

Support Our Work

Every day, includem works alongside children, young people and families to help them overcome challenges, build stability and realise their potential. We couldn’t do this important work without people who choose to support our organisation as a whole.

While fundraising for specific projects makes a significant difference, donations to our general funds are equally vital. These flexible funds underpin everything we do — from training our staff, to keeping our services running, to being there when a young person needs help sooner rather than later.

Put simply, support for our running costs enables us to better, faster, and longer support young people.

By giving to our general funds, you help us:

  • Respond quickly when a family needs urgent support
  • Ensure our teams have the skills and tools to deliver the highest quality work
  • Evidence of our impact supporting the whole family
  • Develop and sustain services where they are needed most
  • Reach more young people across Scotland

Your generosity strengthens the foundation that makes all our specialised work possible.

Why your support matters

Every donation — large or small — helps us stay by the side of children, young people and families for as long as it takes. Your support keeps our services strong, responsive and rooted in what young people tell us they need.

Thank you for helping us make lasting change possible.

Our Young Person's Fund

Our Young Person’s Fund is a dedicated fund established in 2011 to provide immediate, practical support for the children, young people and families we work with across Scotland. This means that every penny donated to the Young Person’s Fund can only be used for direct support, never for organisational or administrative costs.

Many of the young people supported by includem face financial hardship or barriers that make everyday essentials difficult to access. The Young Person’s Fund ensures we can remove those barriers quickly and compassionately.

Because this fund is ring‑fenced, our frontline staff can respond straight away when a young person needs help — whether that’s food, phone credit, clothing, travel costs, or support to take part in activities that build confidence and wellbeing. Sometimes, even a small amount can prevent a crisis before it happens.

100% of donations to the Young Person’s Fund go directly to children, young people and families, helping them access essentials, stay connected to education and opportunities, and feel part of their communities.

The fund supports things such as:

  • emergency food and basic groceries
  • phone credit to stay connected to support, education or employment
  • essential items like toiletries, clothing and travel
  • activities, training and opportunities that build confidence and skills

Impact of the Young Person’s Fund

In 2025, the Young Person’s Fund supported:

  • Over 250 children, young people and families.
  • the purchase of health and wellbeing items – including covering dentistry fees.
  • the creation of safe homes through the purchase of beds, mattresses, dehumidifiers and decorating.
  • children and young people into new hobbies, including boxing, golfing and horse riding.
  • families to experience magical memory-making moments through trips to the cinema, theatre, zoos, soft plays and other family activities.
  • young people and families when they needed us the most by purchasing food parcels and other essential daily items.
  • the purchasing of clothing including jackets, shoes and school uniforms.
  • the payment of overdue bills, relieving the stress families feel.
