Commenting on Monday’s open letter from the Scottish Youth Parliament calling on the SQA to overturn decisions on appeals, Martin Dorchester, Chief Executive of includem added:
“Includem wholeheartedly supports The Scottish Youth Parliament’s calls to introduce a no detriment policy and to ensure exceptional circumstances are taken into account in the appeals process.
“Young people have told us about the significant impact the pandemic has had on their mental health, and upcoming research we have undertaken with those we support shows a third would like greater flexibility and support with learning
“It is pivotal that all young people are supported, their rights upheld, and their views heard, respected, and acted upon – as such, we hope that every effort will be made to ensure that any exceptional circumstances young people experienced are taken into account.”
