Commenting on the news that the two-child benefit cap will be scrapped in Scotland from 2026 during today’s Scottish Government budget 2025/26, Martin Dorchester, Chief Executive said:
“We are delighted that from 2026 the Scottish Government will scrap the two-child benefit cap here in Scotland, a move that could lift 10,000 children out of poverty. This is an issue we have repeatedly campaigned and called for action on and we welcome today’s move.
“We look forward to hearing from the Scottish Government about their plans to mitigate the cap and how this will help transform the lives of children, young people, and families we support.”
