The stark and shaming child poverty statistics highlighted in the “At the Limit” report from the End Child Poverty Coalition supports and reinforces the calls we make in our Beyond the Budget report: for the UK Government to scrap the two-child benefit cap or for the Scottish Government to mitigate and offset the cap.
The statistics from the At the Limit report identifies the top ten Westminster constituencies in Scotland which have the highest proportion of children impacted by the two-child limit. Includem supports children, young people and families in 9 of them.
We see the impact this policy has on children, young people and families not just in these constituencies but across Scotland, so we repeat our call for both the Prime Minister and the Chancellor to finally scrap the cap once and for all.
