“After years of tireless campaigning from organisations and individuals across our sector we are truly delighted that from April 2026, we can say the two-child limit has been finally scrapped.
“We welcome today’s announcement from the Chancellor that the two-child limit will be scrapped. Doing so will improve the lives of many of the children, young people, and families we support and most importantly lift children out of poverty.
“Today, we’re calling on the Scottish Government to redirect the funding that was previously allocated to mitigate the two-child limit into the Scottish Child Payment. We want to see this vital support for families raised to £50 per week which we believe will truly transform lives. We also look forward to seeing the Scottish Government’s plans for the £820million additional funding.
“Families includem support will also welcome today’s news of the government’s action to reduce energy bills and we will be paying close attention to how this will be done in practice.
“Finally, we also look forward to further announcements on the Youth Guarantee which we believe should be extended to Scotland, ensuring every young person has opportunities and support to succeed”
