News & Stories

We believe that all children and young people should have a voice. Behind every child or young person we work with there is a story, which they are best placed to tell. They might not have decided the beginning, or the middle, but they can re-write the ending.

LOUISE HUNTER APPOINTED AS INCLUDEM’S NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Includem – a Scottish Whole Family Support charity – is proud to announce the appointment of Louise Hunter as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Louise will join includem from Who Cares? Scotland – the national advocacy organisation for care-experienced people- where she has served as the Chief Executive Officer since 2020.

With a background in supporting marginalised groups across the third and public sectors on issues including homelessness, justice and care-experience, Louise joins includem at an exciting time in the charity’s history.

In her new role, Louise will lead includem’s strategic direction and oversee the continued delivery and development of services to support children, young people and families across Scotland.

Iain Forbes OBE, Chair of includem said:

“I am delighted to announce that Louise will be the next CEO of includem.

“Louise’s background and experience working across the public and third sector, and her passion for making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families, make her the ideal fit for the role to lead includem through a challenging time for the essential sector in Scotland.

“Louise is also not a stranger to includem, having been one of the very first includem mentors nearly 20 years ago. We are excited for her return and look forward to welcoming Louise back into the includem family.”

Commenting on her appointment, Louise Hunter added:

“As a former mentor, includem has held a very special place in my heart throughout my career.  I’m excited to be returning to the organisation in this critical role, at a challenging time for the third sector.

“The services provided by includem are needed more than ever, and I’m looking forward to working with the includem team and partners to continue to deliver for children, young people and their families.”

Includem works with children, young people and families who are often facing the most difficult moments of their lives, faced with multiple complex challenges.

The charity works with social services, schools, youth justice teams and the NHS to provide support to children, young people and families, providing co-created tailored packages of support which meet their needs.
