News & Stories

We believe that all children and young people should have a voice. Behind every child or young person we work with there is a story, which they are best placed to tell. They might not have decided the beginning, or the middle, but they can re-write the ending.

An Open Letter from includem to Scotland’s new councillors

Dear newly elected Councillors,

Congratulations on your election!

You may have seen that for this election, we published our #NEEDSNOW manifesto. Our manifesto focussed on what children, young people and families told us were vital to addressing the ABCs of NEEDS NOW in your ward and local authority. These are:

Access to support

The Basics

Connections in communities

These ABCs are essential to address the endemic poverty and destitution that people and neighbourhoods across Scotland are facing – now more than ever with the cost-of-living crisis.

We call on you as a Councillor to come together with your community to confront these challenges and to secure and protect the health and wellbeing of those you have been elected to serve.

You can expect to hear more from us over the coming months and throughout your term on these issues as we amplify the voices of children, young people and families we support.

In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about our work in your area you can contact our policy team at publicaffairs@includem.co.uk.

Yours sincerely,

includem
