We believe that all children and young people should have a voice. Behind every child or young person we work with there is a story, which they are best placed to tell. They might not have decided the beginning, or the middle, but they can re-write the ending.

Care Inspectorate Inspection 2026

We are proud to share the results of our latest Care Inspectorate inspection, where our services achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating for supporting people’s wellbeing and ‘Very Good’ for our staff team as well as being deemed ‘Sector Leading’.

This recognition reflects what matters most to us — the difference we make alongside children, young people and families every day.

Sector-leading outcomes

Inspectors described our work as delivering “outstandingly high outcomes,” highlighting the real and lasting impact of our support.

Through our ‘A Better Life’ model, we work alongside children, young people and families to build trusting relationships, identify goals and create meaningful change.

Children, young people and families are at the centre of everything we do — and the results speak for themselves.

One young person shared:

“It has helped me feel better about myself.”

Another described how support helped them return to education:

“They advocate for me in school… They made sure I got back… School is a place of safety.”

 Life-changing support

The inspection – carried out across our services in Scotland in February 2026 – captured powerful examples of transformation — from rebuilding confidence and relationships to re-engaging with education and moving on to university.

Families told inspectors that support had been life changing, helping them feel understood, valued and able to move forward.

Our teams provide flexible, responsive support tailored to each family’s needs — including 24/7 access through our helpline.

Inspectors said:

“We were hugely impressed by the ability, commitment and willingness to provide responsive and flexible support.”

 Our people make the difference

The report highlights the strength of our staff team, describing them as:

“Motivated, enthusiastic… with a shared commitment to supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.”

Colleagues are supported through strong training, mentoring and a culture of continuous learning — enabling them to deliver the highest standard of care.

 Looking ahead

While we celebrate these results, we remain focused on continuing to improve and to ensure even more children, young people and families can benefit from the support they need.

This inspection affirms what we believe: with the right support, every child, young person and family has the potential to thrive.

Louise Hunter, Chief Executive of includem said:

“We are incredibly proud to receive an ‘Excellent’ rating for supporting wellbeing and deemed as sector leading by the Care Inspectorate. This reflects the dedication of our staff and the strength of our relationships with children, young people and families.

We believe every child, young person and family has potential, and this report shows what can be achieved when the right support is in place.”
