Iain Forbes OBE welcomed by includem

We are proud to congratulate our Chair of includem, Iain Forbes on being awarded an OBE in the 2023 New Year Honours List.

Iain Forbes has been a stalwart of the Scottish business and 3rd sector community for over 40 years. During the 80s and 90s, he was a leading light in the Scottish media. From 2008 onwards, Iain used his considerable expertise to lead the Scottish Mentoring Network and many charitable organisations. Further, charitable and Third Sector work Iain is involved in includes chairing Variety Scotland Children’s Charity, chairing Glasgow Education Business Partnership, Chair of Glasgow Childcare Partnership, and a Non-Executive Director of the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations. In the private sector, Iain was also a voluntary Chair of the UK Council for Training of Journalists, President of the Scottish Daily Newspaper Society, Director of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, and Non-Executive Equalities Advisory Group of Scottish Enterprise.

Iain has been and continues to be a role model in the Third Sector. This award is testimony to his ongoing commitment to making a difference in society and – in particular – to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to achieve their potential, especially children and young people who are disadvantaged or vulnerable.
