We believe that all children and young people should have a voice. Behind every child or young person we work with there is a story, which they are best placed to tell. They might not have decided the beginning, or the middle, but they can re-write the ending.

Glasgow City Youth Health Service and includem partner to launch a new Multiple Risk service

Includem are excited to announce the launch of the Multiple Risk Service in support of the Glasgow City HSCP Youth Health Service.

The Multiple Risk Service will engage with young people to address risky behaviours and to transform their lives through positive change. This new service could help young people involved with risky behaviours, gaming and gambling issues, antisocial behaviour or have issues with alcohol and substance abuse.

Working in nine venues across Glasgow City, our team of highly experienced Multiple Risk Workers, will meet with the young people they support on a weekly basis. Through these one-to-one sessions, the worker will support the young person to set goals and develop a personal support plan.

This support plan will draw heavily from includem’s successful A Better Life Toolkit which includes modules on Health & Wellbeing, Offending & Risk-Taking Behaviours, This is My Life and more. Where appropriate, we will also provide outreach support and work to support families too.

Glasgow City Youth Health Service is a confidential, personalised, health and wellbeing service for young people aged 12-19 years in Glasgow City. Holistic support is available with sexual health, mental health, weight and employment, alcohol and drugs among other topics. The Youth Health Service operates in the evenings and offers appointments with GPs, Nurses, Counsellors and our new Multiple Risk Workers.

Appointments are available for young people aged 12-19 years who live in Glasgow City Local Authority or are registered with a Glasgow GP practice. Phone the Youth Health Service team on 0141 451 2727.

Commenting on the launch of our new service, Martin Dorchester, Chief Executive of includem said:

“The launch of the Multiple Risk service marks a new partnership for includem and we are delighted to be part of the Glasgow City Youth Health Service working with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the other partners to help support and transform the lives of Glasgow’s young people who need it the most.”

Nicola Galloway, one of the new Multiple Risk Workers for the service added:

“The opportunity to work alongside a variety of health professionals under one roof is a unique way for includem to support a young person.

“I’m excited about the new challenge and I’m hopeful we will be able to support the young people to make more positive and informed choices for themselves.
