News & Stories

We believe that all children and young people should have a voice. Behind every child or young person we work with there is a story, which they are best placed to tell. They might not have decided the beginning, or the middle, but they can re-write the ending.

Services Update 2024

We are excited to provide the following update to our services across Scotland from the 1st of April 2024:

  • We will be extending our partnership with Aberdeen City Council over the next two years (with an option for a further three) to provide Targeted Family Support to children, young people and families in Aberdeen to prevent and divert children and young people from escalation within the justice system. Through a multi-agency focussed triage system, the Targeted Family Support service will provide targeted help for children, young people and families to reduce the need for social work by supporting their identified needs. This builds on our fantastic work within the Granite City on our continuing Intensive Family Support Service.

  • We will continue our partnership with Fife Council to deliver the Whole Family Support for Teenagers and Young People aged 13-21. For the next three years, includem will provide intensive targeted support to young people and their families across the kingdom 365 days a year. In doing so, includem will play our part in supporting Fife Council’s strategic plans such as the Plan for Fife 2017-2027 and the Fife Children’s Services Plan 2023-2026. Includem has been transforming the lives of children, young people and their families in Fife and we are excited to be continuing our support.

  • We are also launching includem RESPONSE. Our national service provides a dedicated team that can provide support to children, young people and families through bespoke individualised support packages across Scotland. There are no specific referral criteria to be supported by our RESPONSE team which means we can support a wide range of children, young people and families. Martin Dorchester, Chief Executive of includem said:

We are delighted to be continuing our partnerships with Aberdeen City Council and Fife Council and to launch our new includem RESPONSE service which is available to every local authority across Scotland.

“Through includem’s support, we can ensure that children, young people and families receive the support they need to transform their lives and we are proud to play our part in their journey.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank children, young people, families and our teams who have supported the Wellbeing in Fife service in Dunfermline and South West Fife and our Falkirk service. Unfortunately, includem’s involvement in these services has now come to an end and we wish all partners well going forward.”
