Commenting on the passing of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill, Martin Dorchester, Chief Executive of includem said:
“We at includem are absolutely delighted to see the incorporation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into Scots Law.
“For over ten years, campaigners including children and young people have worked tirelessly to get to this monumental and historic moment for Scotland and we congratulate everyone involved for all their hard work, we should also be proud that we are first nation in the UK to do so.
“Enshrining into law the rights every child has will ensure that Scotland’s children and young people grow up healthy and safe with their views taken into consideration in any decision that affects them. These principles are at the heart of the work we do at includem.”
